Northland remains the story of the season, and their home quarter final at Semenoff Stadium on Saturday against Tasman will be the team’s first ever home playoff match due to their top four finish.
They take on Tasman, who the Taniwha beat 20-10 in their first of three Ranfurly Shield defence challenges this season, before eventually falling to Counties Manukau in the penultimate round.
Elsewhere, old rivals Canterbury and Waikato play at One NZ Stadium on Sunday afternoon under the roof; North Harbour welcome a red-hot Taranaki side without the aide of the Barrett brothers and Josh Jacomb; and Otago host the Magpies in Cam Millar’s 50th match for the blue and gold.
